The battle of the top two teams in the Coast-North Conference came as advertised in this back-and-forth Wednesday night matchup that saw the Rams win by the slimmest of margins, 70-68 over the Gladiators

The Rams (7-0 Coast-North/20-3 Overall) and the Gladiators (6-2 Coast-North/18-5 Overall) battled it out for all four quarters. CCSF closed the first half up 36-34, only to see Chabot regain the lead at the end of the third quarter up 53-52.

Chabot continued to apply the pressure in the fourth quarter, and held a 68-64 lead with two minutes remaining. But the Rams leaned on sophomore guard Caprice Taylor who hit a huge three-point shot with 1:20 left, bringing the Rams within one point of tying the game. Up 68-67, Chabot missed their next field-goal attempt. The Rams looked to Zakiya Willis, who hit a low-post shot to put the Rams up 69-68 with 45 seconds left.

Guard Anissah Dorsey made the defensive play of the game when she stripped the ball from Chabot's guard and converted one of two free throws, increasing the Rams lead to 70-68.

On the final play, Chabot opted for a three-point shot, but missed.

Top performers include Zakiya Willis, who scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, and Taylor, who scored 21 points.
