The Rams kicked things off early Saturday morning defeating the West Valley Vikings 1-0 to advance to the second round of the playoffs. The Vikings started off with the first punch, creating several scoring chances early and drawing a penalty kick early in the first half. Thanks to freshman goalkeeper Isaac Alvarez, their early efforts were spoiled with an incredible PK block and several fingertip saves. Isaac's heroics quickly gave the Rams a boost, showing much better in the second half. The game winning goal came late in the game from freshman forward Armando Sandria.
The Rams continue there playoff run this Tuesday at Santa Rosa Junior College at 1pm. They look to upset NorCals number 1 seeded Bear Cubs, and win a place in the Elite 8.
