The City College of San Francisco men's soccer team's match against Canada College ended in 1-1 tie yesterday at Redwood City.

The Rams (3-0-2) got on the board early in the game when the super-sub tandem of freshman midfielder Raul Perez and freshman forward Viniscus Santana hooked up for a score at the 13:00 minute when Santana found Perez for the goal.

"Our subs came in with good intensity. Viniscus hustled for that ball that shouldn't have even been his ball. But he fought for it and won it and had a great assist to Raul," Assistant Coach Jesus Hernandez said.

The performance by the Rams' bench proved to be the overall theme of the game for CCSF. Backup defenders freshman Marco Briseno and freshman Jorge Briseno were defensive stalwarts on the backline for the Rams.

"Marco and Jorge stepped up for us. They held down the backline when we put them in the game, and held it down at midfield against Canada's attackers," Hernandez said.

Although Canada tied the game at the 38:00 minute, sophomore goalie Taylor Bailey put together another impressive performance, blocking five of six shots on goal. Through five games, Bailey has 20 saves and three goals allowed.
