Coach McNichol graduated from Bucknell University and captained the basketball team in 1978. He received his Master of Arts in English from San Francisco State in 1984. McNichol has been working with the Rams basketball team since 1999 and oversees the athletic progress of the players and conducts study hall. In his spare time, McNichol enjoys helping Bay Area high school students prepare for the SAT test to qualify for Division I scholarships. Some of the past tutees include Dior Lowhorn (Texas Tech/USF), Eli Holman (Indiana) and Quentin Thomas (North Carolina). McNich­ol has been an English instructor at CCSF since 1984. His wife, Julia, also teaches at CCSF in the Transitional Studies Department. Tom and Julia live in Oakland and have three daughters, Kelsey, Devyn, and Cristina.
