Coach Almlie is entering his 4th season as defensive coordinator and 5th season overall at CCSF. The 2022 defense garnered five All-Bay 6 conference selections and seven players earned division one scholarships. The 2021 defense saw the program's first 13-0 season in it's decorated history. In the National Division, the Rams ranked 1st in total yards per game (233.8), 1st in rush yards per game (61.9), 4th in pass yards per game (171.9) 2nd in points per game (11.6), 1st in interceptions (21), 4th in sacks (31), and 3rd in defensive touchdowns scored (5). Six players earned All-Bal 6 Conference honors and 13 defenders earned division one scholarships. 2019 saw four Rams defenders earn All-Bay 6 Conference honors and seven players earn division one scholarships. Coach Almlie coached the defensive backs in his first season at CCSF. The Rams led the Bay 6 Conference in interceptions and defensive touchdowns. Prior to CCSF, Almlie spent 5 years as the defensive coordinator at Santa Barbara City College. While at SBCC, the Vaqueros posted their best record in 31 years and reached multiple bowl games, breaking a 16 year drought. Prior to SBCC, Almlie coached the cornerbacks at Western Illinois in 2012. He coached one All-Missouri Valley Football Conference corner on a defense that ranked 2nd in pass defense, 2nd in passes intercepted, and 3rd in turnovers gained. In 2011 Almlie coached the cornerbacks at Missouri Southern State University where the defense ranked 2nd in rush defense, 1st in sacks, and 1st in tackles for loss. From 2008 to 2010 Almlie was the assistant defensive backs coach at Western Illinois. The Leatherneck defense recorded seasons ranked 1st in pass defense, 1st in pass efficiency defense, 2nd in turnovers gained.

In Coach Almlie’s first season as the defensive backs coach, all 4 starting defensive backs earned division 1 scholarships and a total of 6 DBs earned scholarships to 4-year schools. In addition, Coach Almlie had 3 All-Bay 6 selections.

Coach Almlie played for Novato High School where he was a 1st Team All-MCAL safety & Santa Rosa JC where he was twice selected as a 1st Team All-NorCal Conference corner before transferring to Western Illinois University, earning starting jobs at both safety and corner. Almlie earned and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting from Western Illinois University and is currently working on his Master of Arts in Kinesiology.

A Bay Area native, Coach Almlie was raised in Novato, CA and currently resides there with his wife, Victoria.
