City College of San Francisco is just one victory away from returning to the state championships. All that stands in the way is rival College of San Mateo. The two teams will face off again, this time in the Northern California Championship, on Saturday (Dec. 4) at George M. Rush Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game at CCSF are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. The game will also be streamed live online by NorCal Sports TV.
Food trucks will be at the stadium to offer a pair of food options to fans at the game. Bachi Bus serves up Japanese Teppanyaki and Kiss My Boba will be selling a variety of boba teas. In addition at the stadium entrance gates, the San Francisco Police Department will be accepting new, unwrapped toys as part of its annual Toy Drive. SFPD will also accept monetary donations via Venmo and GoFundMe.
On the field, CCSF and San Mateo faced each other just last month in a game that decided the Bay 6 League champion and the top seed in the Northern California Playoffs. The Rams were able to hold off a late CSM rally and won by a final score of 31-27 in San Mateo.
The Rams are the lone undefeated team in Northern California at 11-0 and are coming off a 35-17 victory over American River College in the NorCal semifinals. CSM (10-1) defeated Fresno City College 31-14 in the other semifinal to secure its spot in the final. CCSF is looking to capture its first state championship since 2015.
The 2021 CCCAA State Championship is scheduled for Dec. 11 at the site of the Southern California champion. Golden West College of Huntington Beach (11-0) hosts Riverside City College (9-2) in the south region final on Saturday (Dec. 4) at noon. That game will be streamed live online by SoCalCollegeSports.
