CCSF Defeats DVC 34-16

The City College of San Francisco Football team defeated Diablo Valley College 34-16 last Friday and moved to 5-2 on the season.

The game was a tale of two halves. The Rams closed the 1st half trailing DVC 16-10. DVC running back relied heavily on their running game — their two first-half touchdowns came by way of the run. Rams Quarterback Jack Newman answered DVC with a with a 63-yard touchdown strike to wideout Christian Willis with 10:38 left in the second quarter.

In the second half the Rams offense, led by Newman, exploded for 24 points. Newman connected for three more touchdown passes to three different receivers (DeShawn Collins, Jahvon Patton, Willis).

After allowing 16 first-half points, the Rams defense completely smothered DVC’s offense and held them scoreless in the second half. Linebacker Timote Finau led the team with nine tackles and one sack.

The Rams host Chabot College on October 27 at 1 p.m.
