Four City College of San Francisco football players signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to play for Division-I schools.

Offensive tackle Elliot Baker, a top-3-ranked junior college recruit, signed with Alabama — as expected. (Read about Baker’s journey from an overlooked high school player to Tuscaloosa here.)

Joining him on campus to sign were fellow offensive linemen Robert Valencia, who was Baker’s teammate at Archbishop Riordan and will be heading to Washington State and San Mateo native David Galten (Alabama-Birmingham).

Wide receiver Easop Winston, formerly of Serra High School, will also be heading to Pullman, Wash., after signing with WSU.

Quarterback Lavell McCullers signed with FCS school Prarie View A&M later on Wednesday. Rounding out the December signees will be tight end Metise Moore, who is going to sign with Towson in person this weekend.

Rams head coach Jimmy Collins estimates 11 to 16 players will move on to D-I schools with another dozen or so expected to sign with NAIA or D-II programs.

“[Signing day] is what makes all this worthwhile,” Collins said.
