CCSF Rams Win Big in Home Opener Against Siskiyous

The CCSF Rams were back to their winning ways in their home opener after defeating the Siskiyous Eagles 43-13 on a brisk Saturday afternoon at George M. Rush Stadium.

After a shaky 1st-quarter start in which Siskiyous blocked a punt that eventually led to a 5-yard TD run by  Eagles' running back Tahjae' Morant  in the game’s opening minutes, the Rams eventually seized control of the game on both sides of the ball.

The Rams' offense reeled of an amazing 710 yards of total offense. Sophomore Quarterback Lavell McCullers was a one-man  offensive machine. He connected on  24-of-37 passing attempts and threw  for 432 passing yards and one 50-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wideout Erik Phillip. McCullers also rushed for 54 yards with one rushing  touchdown.  Other offensive standouts include sophomore running back Lorenzo Logwood, who rushed for 82 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns, and sophomore wideout Easop Winston,  who finished with a stat line of six receptions, 182 receiving yards, and one touchdown reception

On defense, the Rams held the Eagles to a miniscule 176 yards of total offense (102 yards rushing and 74 yards passing).  Sophomore defensive back Deante Fortenberry was the defensive star of the game.  After the Eagles scored the game's first points on a 5-yard TD  run in the first quarter with 7:09 remaining, Fortenberry made the play of the game by blocking the extra point and returning the ball all the way  back to the Siskiyous' endzone for two points. Fortenberry also added an interception to his impressive line.
